McGuireWoods and McGuireWoods Consulting partnered with KPMG to host a fireside chat with U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, facilitated by former U.S. Rep. G. K. Butterfield, senior advisor with McGuireWoods Consulting in Washington, D.C.
The May 16, 2024, discussion focused on the importance of increasing the pipeline and retention of Black professionals in traditionally underrepresented sectors such as finance, venture capital, private equity, investment banking, and mergers and acquisitions.

McGuireWoods Chairman Jon Harmon gave opening remarks; Wendy Lewis, KPMG Richmond office managing partner, gave closing comments; and Tonya Robinson, vice chair and general counsel – legal, regulatory and compliance at KPMG, hosted a Q&A following the discussion.
Attendees then enjoyed a networking reception while taking in the view from the rooftop of McGuireWoods’ Washington, D.C., office.
Event leaders included McGuireWoods Richmond partners Jackie Stone and Daniel Howell; Richmond associate Arrion Dennis and Charlottesville associate Paul Harris Jr.; and former U.S. Rep. Butterfield and McGuireWoods Consulting assistant vice president Tyler McNeill of D.C.
