For its second annual Student of Color Visitation Day on Nov. 17, 2023, the University of Pittsburgh School of Law hosted 30 undergraduate students from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, the nation’s first historically Black university. As part of the program, McGuireWoods partnered with Kaplan to award an LSAT Prep Scholarship to Cheyney University student Veronica Redden.
The award caps the Student of Color Visitation Day, where Cheyney University students spend a day on the University of Pittsburgh School of Law campus, take a mock class, and meet with students and professors. This was the second year the McGuireWoods LLP-Kaplan scholarship was awarded to a deserving undergraduate student of color who intends to become an attorney.
“This year’s recipient, Veronica Redden, impressed us with her outstanding academic achievements,” said McGuireWoods Pittsburgh partner Alex Madrid. “I was proud to stand next to her and last year’s winner, Rukayat Sulaiman.”
