The Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association honored McGuireWoods Chicago partner Amy Starinieri Gilbert with its 2023 Outstanding Performance Award for her leadership and service as vice chair of Women.Connected.
Women.Connected is an ABA Antitrust Section committee focusing on the recruitment, involvement and contributions of women in the work of the Antitrust Section, and on raising awareness of the ways gender issues are implicated in competition, consumer protection and data privacy law. Gilbert helped develop a monthly digest updating members on the committee’s projects and leads the committee’s Quarterly Spotlight, a regular series highlighting women in the profession.
Gilbert previously served as a young lawyer representative for the ABA Antitrust Section’s Membership & Diversity Committee and for its Cartel and Criminal Practice Committee.
A member of McGuireWoods’ Antitrust, Trade & Commercial Litigation Department, Gilbert handles civil and criminal antitrust matters, complex commercial litigation and consumer class action litigation. She represents corporate and individual clients in government investigations, and provides compliance counseling and litigates matters related to consumer protection statutes such as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
Gilbert also maintains a pro bono practice and is a member of the Professionals Board of CARPLS (Coordinated Advice & Referral Program for Legal Services), a leading legal aid organization in Chicago.
