McGuireWoods sponsored and participated in Corporate Counsel Women of Color’s 17th Annual Career Strategies Conference, held virtually and in person Sept. 22-25, 2021, in Los Angeles.

Firm lawyers attending the conference included Century City partner Lisa Atty, Baltimore partner and Diversity & Inclusion Committee chair Ava Lias-Booker, Los Angeles partner Tanya Greene, D.C. associate Brandi Howard, Houston partner Demetra Liggins and Charlotte counsel Tanisha Reed.

The conference featured a “Board-Readiness Training Boot Camp” and “General Counsel Training Boot Camp,” popular fireside chats with corporate general counsel, and networking opportunities with representatives from a number of corporate legal departments. In addition to CLE training and summit discussions on social justice and promoting diversity and inclusion, programming covered trending topics such as cryptocurrency, COVID-19 issues, and environmental, social and corporate governance.

The Corporate Counsel Women of Color formed in 2004 to provide a support network to in-house women of color and facilitate their networking, career advancement and success, and to promote all aspects of global diversity in the legal profession and workplace.
